on st patricks day

there was a party on her corridor, and I went up later on, when it was in full swing, but it had become rather dispersed by this stage, and we'd just left one of the rooms at the end and were dandering down the hallway when she reached up and kissed me on the cheek and squeezed my hand and said 'thank you.'

'what for?'

'just for being here tonight.'

and we held hands and smiled walked on and said nothing and for once, everything was fine, everything was in its right place, I couldn't have asked for anything more.
